Has it been that long?
The best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or even touched--they must be felt with the heart. ~ Helen Keller
It isn't the fact that I've forgotten about this lovely blogging page....it is simply a matter of shear exhaustion and the ever alluring call of sleep. Just like everyone else, I would love to have a superpower where I could just freeze time. Everything else would freeze, allowing me the those few small moments in the day to actually get things done. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't change a thing about my life right now (well, more sleep would be nice).
Last Christmas, we had planned a trip up north to see our families but couldn't make it. Gabriel's shunt was failing, with absolutely no symptoms. Three days before Christmas, we went to our favorite children's hospital for a routine MRI only to find out that Gabriel's shunt wasn't doing its job. We spent Christmas in the hospital, so this year we were bound and determined to take a trip; boy did we ever. We loaded up the van and took off to Virgina and Maryland.
It has been amazingly refreshing. Being off for two weeks with the ones that you love is simply the best medicine for a tired soul. Gabriel even got to see snow! He didn't enjoy it as much as I thought he would but at least he threw his first snowball.
As the new year approaches, I am determined to not let another year go by without periodic updates. I am beyond blessed and growing more and more addicted to being a mommy ever single day. How is that possible? Here's to new adventures and a healthy happy 2013!
